Holy Toledo. What nerve this guy has. Chavez had it wrong this is El Diablo. He is basically rubbing everything they have done to molest the constitution in our collective faces. Finally admitting to all the power grabbing. The truly %$%$W thing, sorry working on my cursing, is that in a a perverse way he is right let me explain.
Have you ever put a nut on a bolt with an impact wrench? Did you then try to get it off without an impact wrench? Point is in some cases you need the same tool to un-do something as was used to do it in the first place. In this case a strong presidency. That was their whole plan right they believe in a unitary executive and they wanted to build one and hope to keep it in their greedy paws forever. However it turns out most of them were too stupid or just too arrogant to use this power properly or to run anything really. Some how those silly American people got wise and remembered that hey I can get involved and change things. So now we have this protracted repacking of history. What we did was really good they would have us believe.
Bush and his mangled interviews mumbling about no do overs. Well there were big mistakes in Iraq he was asked and responds; so what? That is too many words for Cheney is just says:so.
How about this you rat bastard son of bitch four thousand, two hundred and nine soldiers dead. Four thousand two hundred and nine people who trusted you.Four thousand, two hundred and nine people Who swore to up hold and defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, the very same document you swore to defend. You and the dark prince Richard had a different idea didn't you. An obtuse jackass reinterpretation of that sacred document. An interpretation that allows you to do whatever you want. And then you have the balls to act like it was the normal course of events.Just conduct everything in secret ignore the law left and right deny science. Perfectly effective way to run a country. Then as one final insult(ok probably not final) Rove( a thousand curses upon him) says Obama should be more transparent. Man are they trying hard to re-write history or what? Dude we are all still alive and we can remember. Give me a break.
I think President Obama will in some ways have no choice but use strong executive powers because its the only way to undo the damage done by same. He unlike you two is a
constitutional law scholar and he respects it. He is a student of history and doesn't think its for nerds. He knows the story of Cincanatus and Caesar . I hope that he can use this power for good and allow congress back into the fold to fix these problems. Congress also needs to have a clear sense of priorities and then the president and Congress can truly work together. Seems novel. That hasn't happened in what 14 years? First they fought like hell against Clinton constantly, tried to run him out of town for something ten times less heinous than what Bush does on an avg Wednesday. Then Congress fell in lock step with W et al.
They have distorted and twisted everything we have stood for and now they insult everyone by saying that the new president will like it. Like it no, need it perhaps. I am agnostic but I think the concept of hell was invented for people like Cheney and Rove, because nothing on Earth could happen to them bad enough to balance out everything they have done. Of course Cheney is just hanging around because the Devil is afraid of his little brother coming home to take over.
