Now Ford says it doesn't need Bailout money after all. That it would rather send signal of strength? What you talking about Willis? What was all that who de do about needing help? Why would you go to capital hill to beg if you didn't need the money? Why would you embarrass yourself and damage your company's image. Something is rotten in the state of Michigan. Did they just find this big line of credit? Or was the idea that hey while they are giving away money lets see if we can get some? If you really wanted to burnish your image and show strength to investors why not stay away to beign with. Imagine that headline; GM and Chrysler in Crisis, Ford stands alone as strong automaker.Ta da Ford stock goes up. I don't buy it, it just doesn't pass the smell test. Those must have been some pretty good concessions to convince these greedy hogs to turn up their nose.
So will auto bailout number go down accordingly? Will Congress look at GM and go so do you really need this dough? This is kind of like when you wanted to play sick to get out of school and your mom asked you to roll over so she could check your temp and all of sudden you felt just fine and had you books and ready to go before she could open the medicine cabinet.
So whats it going to take for GM to make a similar discovery? Perhaps they will rediscover their sales abroad and go oh never mind. And to think earlier this week I was arguing to bail out the big three. Well now its big one and heh what do you make again. Or is GM really in trouble and is about to find out what happened to the boy who cried wolf after his jackass friend of fable fame did the same one time too many. Stay tuned.
