Zbigniew Brzezinski Calls Joe Scarborough 'Stunningly Superficial'

Ouch. How would you like your father to come to your work and argue with your boss and insult him on live T.V. no less. I don't usually find Joe Scarborough to be all that superficial. I think hecan be quite reasonable and shows a bit of informed opinion. Key words can and opinion.

There is nothing wrong with his knowledge if he reads Foreign Affairs and the other sources he cites on a regular basis. Unless of course he has that republican disease of incredibly selective reading comprehension. You know you read that one article that agreed with neo-con world view and ignored all other facts. Of course instead of doing the mature thing and apologizing for not better articulating his point he childishly makes sarcastic remarks. Instead he could have done us all a favor and asked a better follow up question.

I don't know him so I don't know if he is superficial. What he was doing is,he was feigning ignorance and oversimplifying. Oversimplifying is the absolute worst way to deal with complex issue like Israel and Palestine. That is how republicans function that and with a whole bunch of rationalization. Joe has on occasion gone against orthodoxy when it requires too much denial on the scale of what is currently being hocked by Rove and Rice. I think Joe sometimes feels subconsciously guilty over having grown a sense of reason and occasionally overcompensates and becomes momentarily tragically obtuse.

You can't blame the Bush administration for whats going on right now he says. That is true in an oversimplified pin hole focus kind of way. Of course this problem has been ongoing for a decades. Bush did however pretty much ignore the the problem until the final minutes of his admin going about what I call the traditional forth quarter attempts to bring peace to the middle east every president seems to engage in. Hamas being elected should have been a call for more attention to the problem not less.

Joe also failed to mention that the other party to the peace agreement under Clinton was assassinated for his trouble. He knows damn well the intricacies of those peace agreements. It is utterly ridiculous to say "they got everything they wanted". Its ok joe you are still our favorite republican. Only because the bar has been set so low that semi-regular stints of reasonablenss is enough to seem like a breath of fresh air. I also like that you encouage people to read the papers.
